Carapace transversely elliptical and with a stout lateral process. Dorsal surface thickly covered with granules. Margins not expanded. Posterior margin with a rounded process on each side. Third maxillipeds: merus shorter than half of the ischium; exopodite not broadened, with outer margin not arched. Chelipeds: finger much shorter than half of the palm. (Guinot 1998)
