Genus Cosmonotus

White, 1847

Carapace granulate, narrowed anteriorly, strongly compressed, the summit forming a median ridge; antero-lateral borders with one tooth; frontal border with a V-shaped incision instead of a rostrum. Eye peduncle folding obliquely backward and downward. Cheliped palm strongly compressed, immovable finger very short, dactylus strongly curved. Second to fifth pereiopods with dactyli compressed and foliaceous. Fifth pereiopod prominent. (Türkay 1995)
